Governance

The Center for Regenerative Therapies Dresden (CRTD) is classified as a central scientific institution of the Technische Universität Dresden (TUD). This facility is subordinated to the Rector of the TUD.

The managing director runs the current business of the CRTD. He represents the CRTD within the university and to the outside. The CRTD Director and his substitute are elected for four years by secret ballot of the general assembly and must be confirmed by the Rector of the TUD afterwards.

The center is managed by an Executive Board, which is responsible for all matters of the center not regulated by law. The board is comprised of the CRTD Director and his substitute, elected group leaders from the main research areas as well as the elected CRTD Member of a non-TUD research institution. Board members are elected by the CRTD Members every four years and are confirmed by the Rector of the TUD.

The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) advises the board in all scientific, technical and organizational issues of importance. It develops proposals and recommendations on the research fields that should be dealt with by the research center. It periodically assesses research performance and work plans. The SAB comprises internationally recognized scholars from Germany and foreign states, who possess expertise across the institute's research spectrum. The Executive Board nominates the members of the SAB, who also need to be confirmed by the Rector of the TU Dresden, for four years.
