Mucosal Immunology – Sebastian Zeißig

We are interested in the immunological mechanisms underlying inflammation and inflammation-associated tumorigenesis in the intestine and the liver, with a particular focus on translational research in inflammatory bowel disease and the role of inflammation in cancer development.

Future projects and goals

The aim of our ongoing and future research is to provide a better understanding of the immunological mechanisms that govern control of mucosal homeostasis and the identification of alterations in these pathways which contribute to the development of inflammation and cancer.
