Tecan Freedom Evo 150 robotic workstation

The Tecan Freedom Evo 150 robotic workstation in Gerd Kempermann's laboratory allows automated handling, harvesting, plating and culturing of cells and is currently set up to maintain and expand adult murine neural stem cells. Integrated into the robotic workstation are an incubator and the automated microscope Cellavista (Innovatis) that allows digital image recognition for splitting the cells according to cell density and to register changes in cell morphology. Currently the first protocols are tested and evaluated. At a later stage the robotic system will also be available for cooperative projects.
