TU Dresden

Many roads lead to biotechnology: You can either study biotechnology at a university or a university of applied sciences, or you find your way to biotechnology via biology or biochemistry.

Whichever way you choose, the chances of working in the white, red or green biotechnology sector are manifold. Please find detailed information about studying biotechnology and potential work areas as for example in the Dresden research laboratory of Gerd Kempermann on, an initiative of the Federal Ministry for Research and Education.

International Master's Program in Regenerative Biology and Medicine

This Master's program offers interdisciplinary education in the fields of stem cells, regenerative biology, tissue engineering, and clinically focused human biology and pathology, with the aim of preparing students to perform research that can be applied to regenerative medicine therapies. The program combines theory with extensive practical experience in the research laboratory with a focus on the scientific fundamentals of stem cell biology and regeneration model organisms, as well as recent methods of genomic analysis of stem cells and model organisms, tissue engineering, and current and potential applications in clinical diseases. Please find more information on the program here.

Bachelor's degree in Molecular Biotechnology

The Bachelor's in Molecular Biotechnology at Technische Universität Dresden can be fulfilled in 3 years (6 terms). During these time students gain biotechnological know-how and knowledge about scientific methods. Please find more information here.

Master's programs at the BIOTEC

The Biotechnology Center of the Technische Universität Dresden offers and organizes two Master's programs in "Molecular Bioengineering" and in "Nanobiophysics". The programs are hosted by the Biotechnology Center. Please find more information here.

Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering (DIGS-BB)

The Dresden International Graduate School for Biomedicine and Bioengineering (DIGS-BB) is a structured PhD program by the Technische Universität Dresden, embedded in a vibrant, collaborative and international community. The DIGS-BB offers PhD positions in world-class interdisciplinary research projects, accompanied by expert mentoring and a training curriculum that supports both scientific and personal development.
